Lua Tribe

Lua or Lawa or Lawue is an indigenous people before the Tai ethnicity. Owned the original area before the creation of the Lanna nation In the past, Lua had a prosperous evolution. Lua have their own unique culture and way of life. Then comes the time where they were invaded by the Tai, they retreated to the mountains and there they established a community. Currently settled in Shan State, Union of Myanmar, northern Laos. and in the north of Thailand which are scattered in Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Nan provinces.

residential house Lua people like to build wooden houses on high platforms. The roof was steep, almost touching the ground, thatched with grass. Lua people have their own language, the Lua language, a language in the Austro-Asiatic family. Mon-Khmer group believes in Buddhism along with traditional beliefs and absorbing the culture from the Tai ethnic group into their everyday life.
